Brachioplasty

brachioplasty staten islandBrachioplasty, also known as an arm lift, is a surgery that removes excess skin and fat in an individual’s upper arm region. What exactly does this procedure accomplish?

  • Reduction of skin that sags downward
  • Trims specific pockets of fat in a person’s upper arm area
  • Tightens and smoothes over the supportive tissue in one’s upper arm

This surgery improves your arm’s appearance by toning the skin. This issue of sagging skin, which can not be corrected through exercise alone, is often caused by age, changes in weight and hereditary factors.

brachioplasty BrooklynHow does it work?

After reading the list above, you realize that you are an ideal candidate for brachioplasty surgery. Your next question is probably, “How does this surgery work?”

We are glad you asked.

When choosing Pacifico Plastic Surgery, we start the process with an initial consultation. During this time, we will review your situation and determine whether you are an ideal candidate.

We begin this procedure by administering anesthesia. You can either choose general anesthesia or intravenous sedation. Then, your surgeon will make an incision, the length and pattern of which will depend on the extent of the excess skin you want to be removed.

This incision is usually made in the axilla (underarm) region or back of your arm. Excess fat is removed or treated with our liposuction method. We will tighten and reshape the underlying supportive tissue in your arm with internal sutures to smooth over the skin. The incision will be closed using removable stitches or absorbable sutures.
